This award took the form of a round badge which measured 15 mm high and 15 mm wide. It comprises of an oak leave wreath with a width of 3 mm and at the base two crossed oak leave leaves stalks. Across the centre is a banner with three folds. Onto this, in raised capital letter are W. – Fü. – Wi., which is the abbreviation for Wehr – Wirtschaft – Führer. Onto this is placed the national emblem, with its wings forming the top and breaching the wreath. The wing span is 22 mm. this can vary as the badge in some cases is convex.

The reverse is plain with a thin needle pin. The badge can like the full size award be constructed of aluminium or tomback. It was worn on the left lapel.
